Arrowhead Winch engineers and manufactures industrial winch, hoist and drive systems under the BRADEN, CARCO and Gearmatic brand names in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. We are seeking a talented individual to join our IT Department as a Help Desk Support Intern supporting our Broken Arrow operations. Our work environments are clean, climate controlled and safe. Arrowhead Winch does require applicants to complete a background check, drug test, and pre-employment physical as a condition of employment. Our goal is for all employees to work safely without injury while maintaining the highest safety standards in compliance with company policies.
Arrowhead Winch can accommodate part-time or full-time working hours based upon college class schedule. This is an on-site internship and hours must be completed during normal business hours. This is a long term internship opportunity starting immediately supporting our Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Manufacturing facility.
Overview - We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Helpdesk Specialist to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support to our users, ensuring that all IT related issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of various operating systems, and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues related to Windows and other operating systems.
- Manage computer hardware and software installations, configurations, and updates.
- Assist users with VPN connectivity and firewall configurations.
- Maintain IT infrastructure by monitoring network performance and resolving LAN-related issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance on desktop systems and peripherals.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
- Provide training and support for Microsoft Office applications and other software tools.
- Document solutions for common issues to build a knowledge base for future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical support or help desk roles.
- Strong knowledge of computer management, desktop support, IT infrastructure, and software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN technologies.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels.
- Understanding of VPN technologies and firewall configurations is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
