OVERVIEW:
The Production Scheduler (Pumps) is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, coordination, and continuous monitoring of production activities for all new business pump and assembly orders. This position ensures timely fulfillment of manufacturing and procurement demands to meet internal shipping targets and customer delivery deadlines. The scheduler works cross-functionally to identify and resolve bottlenecks, improve scheduling processes, and support overall business and production goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Planning & Scheduling
Schedule demand orders for pumps and assemblies based on lead times and customer requirements.
Monitor and adjust production schedules to optimize throughput and ensure delivery targets are met.
Develop and track monthly shipping goals; analyze production capacity and workloads to support business objectives.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Serve as a key liaison between Production, Assembly, Inventory, Project Teams, Procurement, and Shipping to facilitate timely order fulfillment.
Collaborate with Project Management to incorporate project-specific requirements into production schedules.
Participate in cross-functional meetings, including new business kick-offs and weekly assembly reviews, to address and resolve scheduling issues.
Represent production scheduling in internal and customer meetings as needed.
Order & Material Management
Oversee pump assembly orders within the production queue, proactively identifying and communicating potential delays.
Monitor material availability for new business and coordinate with Supply Chain and Procurement to resolve shortages.
Schedule assembly of spare parts and CBA orders based on material readiness and capacity planning.
Manage order change requests in SAP (Order Change Management), ensuring timely and accurate updates.
Prepare quotes for new business pump assembly orders as requested.
Process Improvement & Support
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Provide backup support for Production Scheduling team members and the Manager, Order Management.
Pursue continuous learning and professional development aligned with the role and company objectives.
Other Duties
Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university required.
Master's degree in Business or a related discipline preferred.
Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Proven experience using SAP (specific module experience preferred).
Experience with Synchrono or similar production scheduling software highly preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas), Word, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequently: Sit, stand, walk, communicate effectively, and work on a computer in an office environment.
Occasionally: Visit the shop floor and other production areas; lift and carry up to 25 lbs; travel between company sites, suppliers, or customer locations as required.
