- Summer Intern
Description
The Summer Intern is a positive team player who supports our mission to build resilience through outdoor adventure by facilitating programs with our participants. The summer intern helps set the tone for programming with a caring, supportive, attentive, and encouraging presence. The ideal summer intern focuses not only on the highest level of physical safety of the element but also on the emotional safety of the participant and group. The summer intern is a curious learner, an excellent communicator, and has a heart that aligns with our mission.
We are located on a beautiful 575-acre farm and forest where we offer shared housing for six interns with partial board for the summer. We partner with other nonprofit organizations to roster the majority of our camps, which include youth impacted by parental incarceration, youth affected by gun violence, and those who have faced other adverse childhood experiences. We have 50+ unique partnerships across 26 counties in Central Kentucky. Most of our camps are designed for youth ages 8-12 and include activities such as a challenge course, equine-assisted learning, archery, canoeing, mindfulness, and nature connection.
Our work changes lives. We are eager to recruit interns ready to work hard, be a part of an incredible team, and make a lasting impact on our community.
