Job Description
We are looking for a passionate, determined, and talented Sustainability Intern. Candidates will have the opportunity to work directly with Hoefer Welker's sustainability director in improving sustainable project design, assisting with third party sustainability certifications, and moving forward companywide sustainability initiatives. Work will cover Hoefer Welker's 5 main sustainability focus areas site, water, energy, materials, and resilience and equip candidates with strategies as well as soft skills for moving projects and the industry forward on sustainable design.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with various third-party certification documentation (ex: LEED, Green Globes)
- Assist with company sustainability initiatives such as AIA 2030 reporting
- Learn the process and procedures for energy code and green financing analysis
- Learn programs such as Cove.tool and WUFI for making informed sustainable decisions
- Understand how to sell sustainability to clients and project teams
Job Requiremetns
Education and Experience:
Current participation as a 3rd or 4th year, traditional or non-traditional, architecture, engineering or sustainability student at an accredited university working towards a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Candidate must be proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and with a strong work ethic and personally driven to consistently meet project design and performance goals. Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and types of people and committed to being an effective, contributing team player.
