Overview

The South Florida PGA is seeking qualified applicants for two separate internship positions in golf tournament operations. Both internships will expose the individuals hired to both Section and Junior
Golf programming conducted throughout the year. Successful applicants will be responsible for helping to conduct all day-to-day operations for the respective tournament program. The following information will provide you with a better understanding
of everything the internship entails.

Experience Required

QUALIFICATIONS
• Basic knowledge of the game of golf
• Past experience in a team environment
• Enjoy working with young golfers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized, punctual, energetic, and a self-starter
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team based environment
• Innovative and creative
• Detail oriented
• General computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)
• Rules of Golf knowledge a plus
• College degree (or working towards a degree) required
• Automobile access with willingness and ability to travel throughout the south Florida region required
• Interest in a career in golf or sports administration is preferred

Essential Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pre-tournament administrative work including printing of pairings, scorecards, scoreboards, and
creation of local rules sheets
• Pre-tournament responsibilities such as golf course marking, selecting hole locations, equipment
setup and developing operational plans
• On-site responsibilities such as registration, tee set-up, starting, rules officiating, and pace of
play monitoring
• Effectively communicate with PGA members and host professional staff, parents, and junior
golfers
• Working with golf course staff, partners, and stakeholders

• Monitor equipment inventory, maintenance, and replenishment
• In-office support of Junior Golf and Section programming
