ABOUT THE PGA OF AMERICA AND THE COLORADO PGA:
The PGA of America is the largest working sports organization globally, with over 30,000 members and associates and over 400 staff members throughout the country. As "experts in the game and business of golf," the purpose of the PGA is to promote enjoyment of and involvement in the game of golf and contribute to its growth by serving millions of people throughout its 41 Sections nationwide. The Colorado Section of the PGA of America is headquartered in Larkspur, Colorado, 30 miles south of Denver, and serves 250 golf facilities and over 900 professional Members and Associates.
DESCRIPTION:
The Colorado PGA is looking for qualified applicants to serve as a Tournament Operations Intern. The Intern must be available to work Monday through Friday, with some weekends. This internship can be a paid position and/or taken for college credit, depending on the guidelines of your school. This internship will provide experience in both the PGA Professional Section and Foundation events, with a heavy concentration on our Section Professional Tournaments.
SECTION STAFF MISSION:
To provide a first-class experience for Colorado PGA Members and the Foundation community in all tournaments, events, initiatives, and programming. We have a "team first" culture and work in a collaborative, fun, safe environment. Our team has a passion for sharing its love for the game of golf with others.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to handle or feel. An employee in this position must be able to travel for extended periods in various modes of transportation.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
TRAVEL: The employee must be able to drive the company vehicle/van and/or drive to and from various locations throughout the Section within a 100-mile radius.
LOCATION: Our headquarters are located at the Golf Club at Bear Dance in Larkspur, CO. We Service all of Colorado, Eastern Wyoming, and parts of South Dakota.

Experience Required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicants must have completed at least one year of college
- Basic golf knowledge (Rules of Golf experience a plus)
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team atmosphere
- Highly self-motivated
- Graduate/Undergraduate student - PGM/Sports Management majors preferred
- Strong work ethic and desire to excel in the sports industry
- Excellent communication and public relations skills
- Computer knowledge and skills
- Basic understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Willingness to work long hours/early hours/late hours
- Reliable transportation necessary
Essential Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Travel to host event sites throughout the Colorado PGA Section
- Assist with the administration of 40+ events throughout the summer
- Including but not limited to: Course preparation, on-site registration, starting groups, pace of play, rules officiating, scoring, and social media
- Professionally interact with all PGA Professionals, Host Site Staff, and Section Tournament Participants
- Assist the Tournament Director with the day-to-day tournament operations and the coordination of all tournament and event activities
- Serve as field staff at various Professional Majors and Foundation Events.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Non-exempt hourly position that pays between $16-$20 per hour. This employee is eligible for any overtime pay per the Colorado PGA Handbook.
