Company History
A Legacy of Championship Golf
Founded in 1989 by Garth L. Chambers, Sr., Paloma Resort Properties was built on a vision to revitalize golf clubs and develop exceptional golf communities. Early ventures included Dove Canyon in Southern California and Cimarron Hills in Texas, establishing the company's commitment to championship-caliber golf and outstanding course conditions.
In 1996, Paloma acquired Geneva National in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, recognizing the tremendous potential of its courses designed by three of golf's greatest legends: Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, and Gary Player. Working with Player, the Chambers family completed the final nine holes of his course in 2000, realizing the original vision of 54 holes of championship golf across three distinct, world-class layouts.
Over the following decades, the Chambers family continued investing in Geneva National's courses, facilities, and amenities, elevating the golf experience while expanding the property's resort offerings. In 2024, the acquisition of the former Ridge Hotel, now Lodge Geneva National, further strengthened Geneva National's appeal as a premier golf getaway.
Today, under the leadership of Garth Chambers II, President and owner, Destination Geneva National remains dedicated to exceptional course conditioning, memorable golf experiences, and the continued evolution of one of the Midwest's most distinctive golf destinations.
